Bathroom Backsplash Guide

With all the bathroom updates, I'm excited to be wrapping things up with backsplash! What's even more exciting? This technique is less messy and super simple.

Material:

MusselBound Tile Adhesive | A mortar replacement

Tiles

Tile cutter | I'd only recommend this one for projects requiring a few cuts & w/ small tiles

Grout

Grout float

Sponge

Silicone | A color that matches your grout

Lay Tile Adhesive

Clean walls and apply MusselBound to the tiling area. This is a replacement to the typical messy mortal that's applied under the tiles. I loved this stuff because it wasn't time sensitive, and I wasn't risking anything drying up if I had to breakaway to tend to one of my kiddos.

Apply Tiles

Stick tiles directly to the adhesive. I used a tile cutter to trim smaller pieces.

Grout

Mix grout according to directions. Use float to work the grout between the tiles, approaching each groove from different directions to ensure there are no air bubbles. Make sure each groove is packed with grout.

Use the float edge to remove of the extra grout from tiles.

Ring out a sponge, and wipe down tile surfaces. Rinse sponge in a bucket of water, and continue wiping until clean.

Silicone corners

I used silicone in the same shade as the grout to line where the backsplash meets the counter. This gave the backsplash a finished look and prevents water from seeping through.

That's it! Such a simple process that makes all the difference.
